Thanks to PVD technology, there are many finishes in which basin tapware can be made in. The most popular finish is without doubt, chrome. This is the standard colour in which all tapware is made in. To get other finishes a PVD coating is generally added over chrome. That being said, after chrome, the most popular finish is matte black. Then follows matte white, brushed nickel, brushed brass, gunmetal and brushed gold.

As a general rule of thumb you are best to select a range and finish from a one brand and run this range through every piece of tapware in your household. The latter, are one of the only manufacturers in the world to make entirely lead-free brass. That is, not even 0.25% on all internal and external components.
